About us
Community Green Radio (CGR) Program is working through affiliation with Kiboga FM Ltd located in Kiboga District in Central Uganda. It is one of the major programs of National Association of Professional Environmentalists (NAPE).The program is an offshoot of the Sustainability School Program which works on empowering communities to identify their rights and entitlements and works towards attaining and defending them. The program is aimed at amplifying the voices of local communities in the eco-sensitive Bunyoro and Buganda Regions to effectively participate in natural resource management processes and support efforts for greening the Ugandan economy.
The Community Green Radio Program started in August 2014 and was operating through affiliation with Liberty radio in Hoima. It would broadcast live from Thursday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. However, with the demand from communities for a fully-fledged radio program to promote environmental sustainability, NAPE purchased Radio Kiboga FM Ltd in Kiboga town which inherited the Community Green Radio Program.
For now, Community Green Radio Program broadcasts on Radio Kiboga for five hours from 16:00 hours to 21:00 hours from Monday to Sunday. It is at a frequency of 103.9 FM. It also broadcasts live through Community Green Radio/Kiboga Fm Uganda app for Android users.
